Day 69: Nothing too exciting...

Mom and Izzy in 2007

Day 69:

The weekends are just as they should be, relaxing. Mom and dad just putzed around both today and yesterday and actually did what they would've been doing if they were home. They watched some tv, had some food, slept, etc.

I feel like these last few days at the hospital mom will really, REALLY be exhausted because I know she'll want to take full advantage of her finals days. Her beloved therapists will probably be  pushing her hard these last days so they can get her in tip top shape to return home on Friday. Mom loves them so much she'll do whatever they ask and then some.

Can you believe it...Friday? It will be day 74.

Dad was eating the other night at the Holiday Inn (needless to say, he misses the club) and he saw a waitress greet a family as if she knew them. He asked his waitress what the story was and she said, "oh yeah, they also are at the hospital but they've been her 15 months".

Ugh, hello perspective, nice to meet you again.

Can you imagine 15 months in the hospital?

No more complaining, no more waiting, no more "buts"...let's get busy and start living. Thank you mom for reminding us of this invaluable lesson.
