Day 63:
Well folks, we're just a spoiled bunch. Mom is doing great, great, great. She's spending her days filled with her therapist BFF's and continues to make huge steps in her progress.
Her voice continues to strengthen and as more and more days pass...the stronger and stronger she gets! Dad says the physical strength is apparent.
Wednesday the doctors have a big meeting to determine the discharge date! Mom is r.e.a.d.y. to leave. But what a bittersweet feeling. One one hand she probably can't wait to leave, to return home to Teddy, to sit on the back patio with dad and see the beautiful sunset. Eat her food, drink her coffee and wear clothes other than starchy hospital clothes. Ah, the smell of Tide of Bounty softeners. I'm excited for her!
Then, on the other side she's leaving the comfort of nurses and doctors at the press of a button. Gosh, what piece of mind knowing that someone is just right there.
Dad drove up to Prescott tonight as tomorrow he meets with the caregivers and the contractor who will retrofit some things in the house. How exciting! The next chapter is almost here...
i am looking forward to going home, but scared too
